Moore Story

In the beginning

In 1975 Mark Moore, always looking for a new challenge and, never satisfied with the ordinary, was on the job working for other contractors. Eager to learn something new in the commercial and residential building trades he had left Huntingdon and found work in New Jersey, building multi-million dollar homes for one of the state's largest home developers. "I went from small one-man jobs back in Huntingdon, PA to building big, elegant, homes in the suburbs of Trenton " laughs Moore, " And we built a lot of them. It was baptism under fire ". Further, he says the demands of building in that fast-paced, code-enforced environment gave him invaluable experience he couldn't have gotten anywhere else.

Small-town work ethic

After 15 years in the city though, Moore was eager to return to his roots, so in 1990 he returned to the relatively quieter lifestyle of Huntingdon and began his own one-man company. Taking the education he had gained in the city and applying it to the small-town work ethic he grew up with, it wasn't long before he became established as the man to go to when one wanted quality work at the best prices around.

Building the team

As the demand for his excellent workmanship grew, Moore realized the need to start building a team of people with the same beliefs he held. That meant hiring trades people who take pride in knowing the job gets done right the first time and people who would uphold the personalized quality for which his work had become known. Thus was born Mark Moore Construction.

Says Moore, "This business has become a great passion in my life. I've learned that it's easy to sell what I believe in, and selling what I believe in has resulted in many new friends and customers. Whether it’s replacing an electrical receptacle, remodeling a kitchen or bathroom, or building a 2000-square-foot addition to the home, the outcome is the same: happy customers and new friends."
